  I had the most disappointing meal ever from here. Ordered the Mixed Grill. The steak was cooked past well done even though we requested medium rare. The meat of the chicken wasn't the best, seems that it was injected with water. The black pudding was cooked to the point where we dropped it on the plate and it made an audible *clink* sound. The tomato was the saddest tomato in the world. The gammon steak was ok, only slightly overcooked and the sausage was cooked fine. The best part of the dish were the chips. The fancy sauces were terrible so we resorted to standard BBQ to add flavor to the poor food.
  
  Two stars because the staff were nice and the salad bar was decent enough. (The bread rolls were excellent)

  Not sure what's happened to this place. Used to be nice but gone downhill over last 18 months. Food has been poor the last few times we have been. Staff can be hit and miss too. Sometimes staff can be helpful and friendly, other times blunt and unhelpful. Waited 25 minutes for one waitress to bring the menus for us to choose desserts and she forgot and was just standing by the till chatting with a colleague for ages (it wasn't busy). By the time she remembered we had just about had enough so asked for the bill instead. Breakfast used to be nice here but the suppliers must have changed recently because bacon and sausages now taste bland. Juice is cheap and freshly squeezed from cartons and basic breakfast items don't get restocked often enough so you end up hanging around waiting for a staff member to appear to ask for bread to toast (which was still frozen) or a plate to put it on. I did complain about our experiences to the manager a while ago and was assured that things had changed and staff had been retrained but after a couple of recent visits, we won't be visiting again. On a positive note, the toilets were clean.

  If you want real atmosphere in a building with real character go elsewhere. If you want to feed your family quickly and cheaply you have come to the right place. The staff were friendly which is always a bonus.
